NA3EHL announces Easton Hockey Stars of the Week
January 13, 2015

The North American 3 Eastern Hockey League (NAHL) today announced the Offensive and Defensive Stars of the Week presented by Easton Hockey for the week ending January 11, 2015. The Stars of the Week is a weekly feature during the 2014-15 regular season that honors the top performing players, both offensively and defensively.
Offense: Anthony Merante, Lockport Express
Anthony Merante of Niagara Falls, New York led a strong Lockport Express team to victory in two wins over Syracuse Stampede in the first game action after Christmas break. Anthony scored the first goal of the game on Saturday of an eventual 5-4 win. On Sunday, Anthony had a goal and an assist in a 4-2 win. Anthony leads Lockport in Goals (21) and Points (43) in 24 games played. He is 2nd in the league in scoring. This is his second Offensive Star of the Week honor for the 2014-15 season.
Defense: Aidan Critchlow, East Coast Minutemen
Aidan Critchlow of Fredericton, New Brunswick may only be 5’9” tall but he plays like a giant most nights for the East Coast Minutemen. Fresh off a well-deserved Christmas break, Critchlow nearly backstopped his team to wins this weekend allowing only 3 goals against in each game. Saturday night, Aidan made 22 saves in a 4-2 loss to Cape Cod Islanders. Sunday, Aidan made 36 saves in a 4-1 loss to New England Stars. The Minutemen gave up an empty net goal in each game. Coach Dan Hodge of Cape Cod was especially impressed with Critchlow’s performance stating, “He might be the best goaltender in the league."
