Pittsburgh defenseman White signs NAHL tender

The Pittsburgh Vengeance of the NA3HL are proud to announce that 17-year-old defenseman Kenny White has signed an NAHL tender agreement with the Johnstown Tomahawks. Johnstown competed in the NAHL’s North Division this past season.
White, a Trafford, Pennsylvania, native was one of the youngest players in the NA3HL this past year and was selected to participate in the 2015 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament, where he played for the NA3HL 18U Selects team.
"Kenny White not only played a regular shift as a 16 year old in the NA3HL, but he competed and fit right in against 19 and 20 year old players," said Head Coach David Dorsey. "Kenny's growth as a player was remarkable from beginning to end and can be attributed to the hard work he put in on and off the ice," added Dorsey.
For the 2014-15 season, White (6’1/165) chipped in nine points and was a +5 on the season.
White is the first player from the Vengeance this season to sign an NAHL tender.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include one tender exclusively used on players from the NA3HL - plus or minus any trades - which become active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held in June 9, 2015.
