North Iowa goalie St. John gets experience in the USHL

North Iowa Bulls netminder Zack St. John was recently called up to the USHL Waterloo Blackhawks for two practices.
With injuries in the goaltending corps of the Blackhawks, former NA3HL head coach and current Waterloo assistant Steve Howard reached out to Bulls head coach Todd Sanden to see if North Iowa had a goaltender available for a couple practices while the Blackhawk goalie rested and recuperated. St. John was excited for the opportunity and willing to make the trip down to Waterloo for a couple days.
"The feedback on Zach's performance while there was positive and coach Howard assured me if they get in a position where they need a goalie short term they would invite Zack in again," said Sanden. "Opportunities like these come up once in a while and we are glad to have our players exposed to teams at a higher level. That is how junior hockey is supposed to work, especially at this level."
