April 10, 2017

The New Ulm Steel of the NA3HL have announced the resignation of Head Coach Jay Witta.
Witta, who has coached the Steel for the previous two seasons, led the Steel to an overall record of 64-36-during his tenure, which included a trip to the Silver Cup semifinals in 2016.
“When Jay took over the Steel two years ago we didn’t know what to expect,” said Steel owner Steve Black. “However, in the two years he has done an a incredible job for us and allowed us to be one of the top programs in the NA3HL. Jay was well liked by his players, fans and all involved within the program, and we are saddened to see him move on.”
The Steel Organization would like to personally thank Coach Witta for his hard work and dedication over the past two seasons. He cared for each and every one of his players and helped create a great culture within the program.
