May 5, 2017

The Toledo Cherokee, members of the NA3HL, are proud to announce that defensemen Ben Hamilton has committed to attend Adrian College and continue his hockey career with the ACHA Division I team.
Hamilton spent two and half seasons with the Cherokee suiting up in ninety six games scoring thirteen goals while adding fifty assists for a total of sixty three points. The Toledo OH native scored four game winning goals and added six power play goals as a member of the Cherokee.
The 21 year old had his best offensive season in 2016-17 when he scored eight goals and had twenty nine assists for thirty seven points.
“Ben is a young man I have known since his youth hockey days at the Ice House and when he joined our team two and a half seasons ago he stepped right in and made an immediate impact. As the years went on he became a guy our coaching staff could count on to be a leader in the dressing room as well as on the ice, he has been a great player for us.” Said head coach Kenny Miller
Hamilton goes to a program at Adrian that has great success the past few years. The Bulldogs compete in the Great Lakes Collegiate Hockey League where they went 14-1-1 in league play last season.
“Not only is Adrian getting a great hockey player that loves to play the game and plays at a high level they are also getting a great individual in Ben. I am really happy for him and his family he will do great things at Adrian.” Added Miller
Hamilton is the first Cherokee from the 2016-2017 season to announce his commitment.
