Yellowstone defenseman Ruschmeyer makes college commitment

The Yellowstone Quake of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that defenseman Hunter Ruschmeyer has committed to play ACHA Division I hockey for Lindenwood University.

 

Ruschmeyer, 20, just completed his second and final season playing in the NA3HL for the Quake. The 6’3/190 lbs. native of Hutchinson, Minnesota, had his best career season in 2016-17 as he recorded 43 points (6 goals, 37 assists) in 41 games played.

 

For his efforts Ruschmeyer was named to the NA3HL All-Frontier Division Team, as well as, the All-NA3HL 3rd Team.

 

During the 2015-16 season, Ruschmeyer had 32 points in 37 assists during his rookie season. He was selected to play in the 2016 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament, but could not attend due to injury.

 

Prior to playing in the NA3HL for Yellowstone, Ruschmeyer played for Holy Family Catholic High School in Minnesota.

 

"I have been Hunter’s coach now for five years through his high school career as well and have been lucky to be apart of his hockey career to this point. Hunter has had a great two seasons with the Quake. He has developed into a defensemen on the ice that is a threat at anytime with his hockey awareness and skating ability. He brings to the game and to the team a great attitude at all times. We are looking forward to Hunter being very successful at Lindenwood and moving forward in his hockey career, while getting his education and we all wish him the best of luck,” said Yellowstone Head Coach Ryan Theros.
