The Long Beach Sharks of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that goaltender Kyle Van Wagner has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey at SUNY-Potsdam.
Van Wagner, 21, just completed his final season of junior hockey in the NA3HL with the Sharks. In total, the native of Red Hook, New York, spent two seasons in the NAHL family of leagues, playing the 2016-17 season in the NA3HL for Long Beach and playing the 2015-16 season in the NA3EHL for the Syracuse Stampede.
Last season, Van Wagner (5’11/175) led the Sharks to the Coastal Division regular season and playoff titles and a spot in the Silver Cup Championship. During the regular season, he posted a 27-8-1 record with a 3.19 goals against average and a 92.0% save percentage.
During the 2015-16 season with the Stampede, Van Wagner posted a 17-17-0 record with a 3.35 goals against average and a 91.1% save percentage.
“I want to thank the NA3HL for giving me a platform to develop the past two seasons. Everything about the league has been great and has made me the player I am today,” said Van Wagner.
