NAHL announces Showcase dates
Fifth annual event to be held Sept. 19-22 in Blaine, Minnesota
FRISCO, TEXAS - The North American Hockey League announced today that its fifth annual NAHL Showcase Tournament has been scheduled for Wednesday, Sept.19 through Saturday, Sept. 22 at the Schwan Super Rink in Blaine, Minn.
"We're excited to return to Minnesota," said NAHL commissioner Mark Frankenfeld. "The first-rate facilities and staff at the Super Rink, along with the positive feedback we've received
from colleges, professional scouts, fans and parents, made this an easy decision for our league."
In conjunction with the 2007 NAHL Showcase Tournament, the league will also host its third annual NAHL Midget Showcase Festival, highlighting 20 of the top midget teams in North America.
"This is an ideal way for prospective NAHL players to get a good look at our league, as well as receive additional exposure from the hundreds of college and pro scouts traditionally in attendance," said Frankenfeld.
More than 200 college and professional scouts attended the 2006 NAHL Showcase Tournament, also held at the Super Rink. The event eclipsed the 7,000-mark in total attendance.
More details on both the NAHL Showcase Tournament and the NAHL Midget Showcase Series will be released in the coming weeks.
