Generals shutout Stars on Wednesday, 5-0

Marc Faia helped the Northeast Generals win their 2018-19 season opener with a goal and an assist.

Marc Faia (1g,1a), Tyler Rudek (2a) and Tami Merilainen (2a) also led the way with multi-point outings for the Generals. After a close-checking first period saw both teams head to intermission scoreless, Marcola kicked off the scoring early in the middle frame. Owen DeGust then lifted the Generals to a 2-0 advantage with five minutes to play before the second intermission. Marcola and fellow General Kolye Bankauskas then struck within 1:04 of one another midway through the final stanza to stretch the lead to 4-0, before Faia capped off the victory with a late power-play tally.
