Six NAHL graduates celebrate NCAA title with Duluth
Six North American Hockey League (NAHL) graduates celebrated an NCAA Division I national championship after the University of Minnesota Duluth defeated the University of Michigan, 3-2, in overtime on Saturday at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn.
Duluth forward Kyle Schmidt, who played in the NAHL with the Fairbanks Ice Dogs, scored the game-winner in the extra session, and goaltender Kenny Reiter, who stopped pucks for the Ice Dogs, Texarkana-St. Louis Bandits and Cleveland Jr. Barons, made 22 saves.
