New England defenseman Cormier makes NCAA commitment

The New England Stars of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that veteran defenseman Zach Cormier has committed play NCAA Division III hockey for Anna Maria College.
Cormier, 20, is a 6’3/220 lbs. native of Fitchburg, Massachusetts. During the 2018-19 season, he registered 8 goals and 15 assists for 23 points in 42 games for the Stars.
He was also selected to and played in the 2019 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament for the Coastal Division Team.
Cormier has spent three seasons in the NA3HL playing for the Stars. He finishes his career with 115 games and 42 points.
“Zach came to the Stars three years ago and has developed into an aggressive, solid, two-way defenseman. He is a natural leader and we will miss him greatly next season. Zach is a great player and also a great teammate. We take great pride in developing our players so that they are ready for their next level. Zach is a prime example of this. He was committed to learning and working hard and because of that he has been rewarded,” said Stars Head Coach Darryl Green
Anna Maria College is an NCAA Division III University that competes as an independent program. The college is located in the heart of New England on a 190-acre campus in Paxton, Mass., just minutes from the city of Worcester. The AMCats play out of Daniel S. Horgan Memorial Arena in Auburn, MA.
“I had three great years with the Stars. The Stars were a second family to me and had great teammates throughout. I’d like to thank my coaches for creating me into the hockey player I am today. I look forward to playing for Coach McCauley and his team,” said Cormier.
