New Ulm forwards Cammarata and Cooper make NCAA commitments

The New Ulm Steel of the NA3HL is proud to announce the NCAA commitments for two players.

 

Steel captain and forward Jarrett Cammarata has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Bethel University and Steel and Top Prospects forward Jordan Cooper has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Lawrence University.

 

Cammarata, a 5’8/175 lbs. native of Maple Grove, Minnesota, spent almost two seasons with the Steel after playing 25 games for the former NAHL’s Coulee Region Chill during the 2017-18 season. With the Steel, he tallied 32 goals and 42 assists in 62 games played.

 

“I chose Bethel because it is a wonderful school and will be the best place for me to further my hockey career and to get a great education,” Cammarata said. “I want to thank my teammates, billets, and of course my family for everything they have done for me. Lastly, I want to thank the whole Steel organization for the past two years.”

 

Cammarata, 20, spent his high school hockey days at Maple Grove High School where he served as an alternate captain during the 2016-17 season.

 

Cooper, a 5’8/178 lbs. native of Cary, North Carolina, played with the Steel for one season where he tallied 13 goals and 20 assists in 46 games played.

 

Cooper, 20, was also selected to and played in the 2019 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament for the West Division team/

 

Prior to his time with the Steel, Cooper spent two seasons with the NA3HL’s Willmar WarHawks. There he played in a total of 83 games, scored 25 goals and tallied 24 assists.

 

“I look forward to becoming a student athlete at Lawrence University in the fall,” Cooper said. “I can’t thank my teammates and the rest of the Steel organization enough for allowing me to be a part of the Steel family my last year of junior hockey. I’ll never forget my time in New Ulm and all the amazing people I’ve met.”
