St. Louis forward Dawe makes NCAA commitment
February 5, 2020
The St. Louis Jr. Blues, proud members of the NA3HL, are pleased to announce that forward Clayton Dawe has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Fredonia State University. The Blue Devils play NCAA Division III hockey in the SUNYAC.
A native of Wildwood, Missouri, the 6’0/180 lbs. right-hand shot elected to finish out his junior career in his hometown this season. His return to St. Louis has been a productive one, with eight goals and 25 assists in 32 games played. Dawe was especially productive at the 2019 NA3HL Showcase in Blaine, where he ended the week with six points (2 goals, 4 assists).
“We are happy for Clayton on making this commitment,” said Jr. Blues head coach Chris Flaugher. “Clayton had a goal at the start of the season to earn a college hockey opportunity and now he’s reached it. The Jr. Blues program is proud that another player will be playing college hockey next year.”
Dawe becomes the first Jr. Blues player to make a college commitment this season. He will join several Jr. Blues alumni also playing in the SUNYAC, with Ryan Edgar and Sam Maddox both playing at Buffalo State and Daniil Ovchinnikov at SUNY-Plattsburgh.
