Steel edge Lumberjacks on Wednesday, 3-2

Steel forward James Spaargaren had a goal in a 3-2 win on Wednesday.
New Ulm 3 @ Granite City 2 – Steel goalie Griffin Foster made 40 saves to lead his club to a 3-2 road win in Granite City in the lone NA3HL game on Wednesday.
The Steel never trailed in the game, which included jumping out to a 1-0 lead with a goal early in the 1st period from Tommy Michelsen. The Lumberjacks were able to respond later in the period with a goal from Zach Kilen to make it 1-1 at the end of one period.
In the 2nd period, the Steel struck again early in the frame as James Spaargaren scored his 8th goal of the season with a power play tally less than a minute in to give the Steel the lead back at 2-1. Later in the period, Granite City tied the game again, as Noah Bissett netted his 2nd goal of the season to make it 2-2.
The game-winning goal came later in the 3rd period as Hutson Collins scored on the power play to make it 3-2 and Foster would make the lead stand until the final buzzer.
Lumberjacks goalie Bailey Huber made 28 saves in the loss.
