Ice Dogs' Reichard headed to Miami-Ohio
The Fairbanks Ice Dogs have announced that goaltender Cody Reichard has committed to Miami University (CCHA) for next season.
Reichard, from Celina, Ohio, ranks second in the NAHL with a 2.11 goals-against average and a .932 save percentage. In 34 appearances, the Top Prospects Tournament selection, who turns 21 on Feb. 18, holds a 22-11 record.
“I’m looking forward to attending and playing for the current No. 1 team in the country,” said Reichard. “They have an amazing program and facility and it’s a bonus because they’re really close to home.
“I want to thank the Fairbanks community for being so supportive during my time here,” Reichard added. “They’ve really welcomed me with open arms in my first year.
“Also, to my teammates who’ve played a big role in my success. Special thanks to the coaching staff, too, for giving me this chance and the things they’ve done for me.”
