Willmar goaltender Pinney makes NCAA commitment

The Willmar WarHawks of the NA3HL are proud to announce that Top Prospects goaltender Will Pinney has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Hamline University (MIAC) beginning in the 2021-22 season.
Pinney, 20, just completed his first season of junior hockey, which was spent between the NA3HL and the NAHL. The 6’1/185 lbs. native of St. Louis Park, MN, began the season in the NAHL with the St. Cloud Norsemen.
In January, Pinney joined the WarHawks in the NA3HL and posted a 8-1-0 record in 12 games played, which included a 2.62 goals against average and a .912 save percentage.
Pinney was also selected to and played in the 2021 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament for Team Apex.
"Will is a tremendous goalie and an even better kid. We added Will shortly after Christmas from our NAHL affiliate, the St. Cloud Norsemen, and he made an immediate impact. He's a great teammate and is an exceptionally hard worker. We wish him nothing but the best going forward. Excited for him to be a Piper,” said WarHawks Head Coach and Hamline University alum Kirk Olimb.
"We're excited to add Will Pinney to our Hamline Piper family. He's a high character, hard-working player who is ready to move on to the next level," added Hamline Coach Cory Laylin.
