NA3HL announces Bauer Hockey Stars of the Week

The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) today announced the Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey for the week ending October 10, 2021. The divisional stars of the week are awards given each week of the regular season to the top-performing players in each of the five divisions of the NA3HL as nominated by their head coaches.
Central Division Star of the Week: Connor Mahony, F, Rochester Grizzlies
Mahony bagged five goals in a pair of wins over North Iowa in a rematch between last year’s Fraser Cup finalists. Entering just his second week with the team, Mahony struck twice in Friday’s win and potted his first hat-trick of the year on Saturday, tallying the game-winning goal in each contest. The 2003-born sniper has found twine in each of his five games played, and boasts 9g-2a—11pts on the year.

East Division Star of the Week: Sean Gorman, F, Northeast Generals
Gorman posted four points in two games for the Generals last week, pacing wins over Norwich and Danbury. Friday saw the New Hope, Penn., native scored his first hat-trick of the season, before then chipping in an assist on Sunday. Gorman has found the scoresheet in each game this year, notching 4g-2a—6pts in four games during his hot start.

Frontier Division Star of the Week: Thomas Gazich, F, Great Falls Americans
Gazich starred for Great Falls despite the team dropping a pair of games to undefeated Helena, as the 2002-born Gazich grabbed five points across the back-to-back set. Gazich, a native of Hopkins, Minn., posted his second straight outing with a goal and an assist on Friday, then upped the ante with a goal and two helpers on Saturday. After two goose-eggs, Gazich has tallied multiple points in each of his last three games, and boasts 7g-6a—13pts in nine games this season.

South Division Star of the Week: Derek Boutin, F, Texas RoadRunners
Boutin nabbed five points during Texas’ three-game set against Atlanta last week, highlighted by his two game-winning goals to help the RoadRunners remain unbeaten in regulation time on the year. After setting up a teammate in Friday’s win, Boutin scored twice on Saturday, then split his production with a goal and a helper on Sunday. Boutin has recorded five multi-point efforts this year, and has now totaled 6g-6a—12pts in nine games after his big week.

Grier was a beacon of consistency for the Warhawks last week, posting six points in two games with a pair of identical stat lines. The Fon Du Lac, Wisc., native potted a goal and two helpers on Friday, then ran it back with another 1g-2a—3pts showing on Saturday. Grier has played just four games with Willmar but boasts two or more points in each contest for a total of 5g-6a—11pts in that span.
