Friday Finals: Generals stay unbeaten with win

Brendan Cobb stopped all 59 shots that came his way in a 3-0 shutout on Friday.

Norwich 1 @ Northeast 3 – The Northeast Generals jumped out to a 3-0 lead and never looked back as they topped the Norwich Sea Captains by a score of 3-1. Ayden Frolik, Zach Sinople and Matthew Nuzzolilo all lit the lamp for the Generals while Harrison Ranger notched the only goal of the game for Norwich. D’Mar McCoy had a solid night in net as he stopped 16 shots to earn the win in goal. Brendan Pellerito was busy all night long as he made 74 saves in the loss.

St. Louis 3 @ Oregon 0 – The St. Louis Jr. Blues snapped their losing streak as they blanked the Oregon Tradesmen 3-0. Gus Immken and Brayden Wilson scored in the first period for St. Louis. In the final minute of action, Cameron Gillen provided some insurance. Brendan Cobb stopped all 59 shots he faced to earn the shutout in goal for St. Louis. Ian Hedican stopped 29 of 32 in Oregon in the loss.

TX Brahmas 8 @ Oklahoma City 4 – Eric Vrkoc scored twice and added three assists as the Texas Brahmas beat the Oklahoma City Ice Hawks 8-4. Benjamin Mondou and Aleksandr Gamzatov each contributed two goals of their own in the win. Gion Coray and Michael Imala also lit the lamp in the win. Robby Rabroker had two goals in the loss for Oklahoma City while Garrett Conner and Jesper Olsson found the back of the net. Dolan Gilbert was the winner in goal as he made 25 saves for the Brahmas. Nathan Hadley took the loss on the other end. He made 33 saves.

Granite City 7 @ New Ulm 2 – Ben Anderson notched a hat trick while Carson Van Zuilen registered four assists in Granite City’s 7-2 win over the New Ulm Steel. Brett Reed, Andrew Butler, Nicholas Richert and Nick Mountain all tallied goals in the win for Granite City. Ryler Schelle and Colby Nickel were the goal scorers for New Ulm. Xander Roberts stopped 22 saves for the Lumberjacsks while Nolan Lacosse stopped 55 shots for New Ulm.

Peoria 3 @ Wausau 2 – The Peoria Mustangs outlasted the Wausau Cyclones 3-2 on Friday night as Jaycob Bland’s third period power play goal was the difference. Tristan Trudel and Connor Henderson also tallied goals for the Mustangs. Nolan Gifford and Luke Anderson were the goal scorers for Wausau in a losing effort. Joe Ambroffi denied 21 of 23 attempts.     

Alexandria 2 @ Willmar 5 – The Willmar WarHawks picked up a 5-2 win over the Alexandria Blizzard as Tyler Misiaklek scored two goals for Willmar. Jeremiah Konkel, Collin Kerchoff and Anthony Foster all found the back of the net. Benjamin Tschida and Michael Debrito both tallied a goal and an assist for Alexandria. Cooper Olson stopped 32 shots in the win while Joey Greilich and Andrew Tuttle combined for 30 saves.

Minnesota 2 @ Mason City 8 – Sota Isogai and Cal Levis each grabbed a hat trick and an assist as Mason City dominated the Minnesota Loons 8-2. Jack Campion led all skaters with six points, a goal and five helpers. Dillon Schimdt scored as well for Mason City. Erik Chaffe made 15 saves for the Toros. Wyatt Mattfield and Jamison St. Clair scored for Minnesota in a losing effort. Payton West was busy all night long as he denied 59 of the 67 shots fired in his direction.

Bozeman 2 @ Gillette 7 – The Gillette Wild continued their perfect season as Carson Kuche registered two goals and two assists. Tristan Baker, Declan Young and Tucker Lien all had a goal and an assists as well this weekend. Sky Solig and Isaac Young also visited the red light district in the win for Gillette. Jake Turek earned the win in between the pipes as he made 29 saves. Bentley Simcox and Ian Bowman were the goal scores for the Icedogs while Liam Scott turned aside 55 opportunities.

Butte 1 @ Great Falls 4 – Four different Great Falls players got on to the scoresheet as the Americans topped the Butte Cobras 4-1 on Friday night. Hunter Maschke and Jackson Henningsgard each racked up a goal and an assist in the victory for Great Falls. Tyler Sunagel and Joshua Serino also chipped in goals as well. Ben Winkler stopped 35 of 36 Butte shots. Caelin Chinery scored the only goal for the Cobras while Caleb Cross stood on his head, stopping 58 of 62 shots.

Sheridan 3 @ Yellowstone 6 – The Yellowstone Quake doubled up the Sheridan Hawks by a score of 6-3 on Friday night. Six different Quake players tickled the twine as Brandon Kididis, Keegan Ferguson and Mason Merger all scored in the first period. Joey Epplin scored his first of the season in the second while Gabe Coppo and Logan Brown scored in the final frame for the Quake. Caden McDonald netted two goals while Nick Tigges also scored for the Hawks. Brandon Lakusta earned the win in the blue paint as her made 32 saves. Bo Buckley was dealt with the loss despite making 36 stops.
