Oregon jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the 1st period as Sam VanderHoeven, Riley VanderHoeven, and Payton Stauffacher all scored, while Pavel Bakhtin scored for Wausau.
In the 2nd period, the Cyclones turned the tables and tied the game at 4-4 with three goals of their own as Wesley Coquet scored twice and Gage Vierzba added the other goal, while Riley VanderHoeven scored his second goal for Oregon.
In the 3rd period, Riley VanderHoeven added two more goals to complete his four-goal night and Stauffacher added his second goal of the game to complete the scoring. Dylan Champman had the other goal for the Cyclones.
Anthony Adleman made 36 saves in the win, while Mitch Miscevich made 48 saves in the loss.
