Saturday Scores: Wild, Bighorns, Cobras complete sweeps
Sheridan 0 @ Gillette 7 – The Wild poured on 97 shots on goal and Will Blake had a hat-trick and an assist as they cruised to a 7-0 win and sweep of the Hawks. The Wild put up four goals in the 1st period, which included three from Blake and another from Sky Solig. In the 2nd period goals from Tristan Baker and Tucker Lien made the score 6-0, and a 3rd period goal from Isaac Young made the final score, 7-0. Wild goalie Jack Orchard made 20 saves in his second shutout of the season. Hawks goalie Patric Loeffler made 90 saves in the loss.
Helena 7 @ Badlands 3 – Liam Bland had two goals, including a second straight game-winner, and two assists to lead the Bighorns to a 7-3 win on Saturday in a road sweep of the Sabres. The Bighorns jumped out a 5-0 lead in the 1st period and never looked bac, which included two goals from Bland, two from Samuel Feamster, and one from Adam Harvey. Dylan Cunningham scored in the 2nd period to make it 6-0. Logan Matheny scored the 7th goal in the 3rd period. All the Sabres scoring took place in the 3rd period as Mason Martin, Zach Vockler, and Seth Stock all scored. Eric Buchholz made 22 saves in the win and Maxim Currie made 47 saves in the loss.
Butte 4 @ Great Falls 2 – Caleb Cross made 63 saves and Luke Schleusner scored twice as the Cobras extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a 4-2 win in Great Falls and weekend road sweep. Butte took a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Schleusner and Drysten Bailey. The Americans pulled to within one goal later in the 2nd period with goals from Garrett Weisenburger and Daniel Crutcher, but goals from Schleusner and Nick Bradshaw secured the win for Butte. Zac Hattan made 42 saves in the Americans loss.
