Titans and Generals win on Wednesday
Danbury 2 @ New Jersey 5 – Five different players found the back of the net and goalie Avery Rovira-Hewitt made 29 saves as the Titans beat the Jr. Hat Tricks, 5-2. New Jersey opened up a 2-0 lead with goals from Maxim Mavrin and Egor Sobolev. Danbury cut the lead down to 2-1 with a goal from Eryk Fancher. The Titans would pull away with goals from George Hinds, Zach O’Neil, and Grant Coykendall. Kenny Granacker had the other goal in the Danbury loss.
Northeast 5 @ Norwich 4 (SO) – The Generals came from behind twice and ended up edging the Sea Captains in a shootout on Wednesday, 5-4. Things looked good for the Generals early as they took a 2-0 lead with goals from Gabe Vijuk and John Rodgers. In the 2nd period, the Sea Captains scored all four of their goals, which included two from Brian Essing and others from Tyler Herrick and Chase Leivian. The Generals erased leads of 3-2 and 4-3 with goals from Jack Laferriere and Owen Locke to make it 4-4. In the shootout, Makhai Santiago scored the lone goal to secure the win for the Generals. Daniel Antal came in relief for the win, while Noah Behrens made 37 saves in the loss.
