New Mexico Earns 10th Straight Victory

El Paso 1 @ New Mexico 2: The New Mexico Ice Wolves inched closer to their first regular season title as they edged the El Paso Rhinos by a score of 2-1. Jake Sherry struck first for El Paso in the first period to give his team the early lead. It was his seventh of the year. In the second period, Fletcher Burnett got on the scoresheet with an unassisted tally for his fifth of the season. Then in the final frame, Carson Gotelaere’s 15th of the season was the difference as the Ice Wolves held on to win their 10th straight game. Owen Zenone finished the game with 16 saves for New Mexico while Ryan Piekarski and Michael Manzi combined to stopped 42 of 44 shots thrown their way.
