Bighorns Tame Wild, Win Game 1

Helena 5 @ Gillette 1 (Helena leads series 1-0): The Bighorns saw five players find the back of the net as Helena moved to within one game of a Frontier Division championship. Wylee Gladen got the Wild on the board first with a goal 6:20 into the first period. The lead would not last long as Jack Lambert scored just a few minutes later to even the game at one. Owen Gruener and Cai Robinson scored back to back goals to give the Bighorns a 3-1 lead after 40 minutes of action. Tim Mattingly and Patrick Crooks grabbed goals in the final frame to seal the win for Helena. Jesse Schindel was almost perfect as he stopped 26 of the 27 shots he faced. Cole Wheaton suffered the loss in goal as he stopped 29 shots.
