Alexandria goaltender LaCosse makes NCAA Commitment
The Alexandria Blizzard of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that goaltender Nolan LaCosse has committed to play NCAA DIII hockey for the University of Wisconsin - River Falls in the WIAC.
LaCosse, 20, wrapped up his third and final season of junior hockey in the NA3HL with the Blizzard. The Stillwater, MN native spent the first two seasons of his NA3HL career with the New Ulm Steel, starting in 2021-2022 before switching over to Alexandria for the 2023-2024 season.
Throughout his time in the league, the 6’1” netminder appeared in 95 total games, posting a 37-46-5 record, 5 wins being shutouts. In addition to his career record, the ‘03 recorded a 3.880 GAA and a save percentage of .897. With his success between the pipes, LaCosse was selected to attend the NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament in 2023 and 2024.
LaCosse will join 20+ NAHL alumni on UW-River Falls. UW-River Falls, which is located 30 minutes from the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, plays in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) and are 19-time WIAC Champions. The three-time NCAA National Champions play their home games out of the brand new 65-million-dollar W.H. Hunt Arena, located directly on campus.
