Grizzlies forward Berglund makes NCAA Commitment
The Rochester Grizzlies of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that forward Ryan Berglund has committed to play NCAA DIII hockey for St. Mary’s University in the MIAC.
Berglund, 21, is a two-year NA3HL player for the Grizzlies, appearing in 45 regular season games, tallying 36 points (10 goals, 26 assists), including 5 powerplay goals and 1 game winning goal. The ‘03 forward also was called up to the NAHL 18 times, playing for the Wisconsin Windigo, Corpus Christi IceRays and Chippewa Steel.
Both years in Rochester, the Mahtomedi, MN native and the Grizzlies advanced to the postseason, playing in a total of 9 Fraser Cup Playoff games. In addition to qualifying for the playoffs, Berglund was selected to participate in the 2024 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament.
“St. Mary’s is getting a natural leader in Ryan Berglund. He stepped up in 2 different seasons in Rochester with his lead by example mentality. Another guy that continued our culture of team first and got rewarded with a Division 3 opportunity,” stated Rochester Head Coach Tyler Veen.
Berglund is the 1st player to commit from the Grizzlies this season.
