Toros defenseman Schwartzhoff makes NCAA Commitment
The Mason City Toros of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that defenseman Logan Schwartzhoff has committed to play NCAA DIII hockey for Lawrence University in the NCHA.
Schwartzhoff, 21, is a three-year NA3HL player, starting off his junior career with the Rochester Grizzlies during the 2021-22 season where he was crowned a Fraser Cup Champion.
Over the course of three seasons in the league, the Woodbury, MN native appeared in 135 games, 13 of which being Fraser Cup Playoff games. Tallying 31 points (2 goals, 29 assists), Schwartzhoff had two multi-point games this season, both coming in the second half. As a veteran of the NA3HL, the 6’3” blueliner was selected to participate in the 2024 Top Prospects Tournament where he was able to tally an additional assist.
“Logan was a rock for us on the back end and probably more importantly in the locker room and off the ice. His great leadership allowed us to get through some lows in the season and make a run at the end,” stated Toros Head Coach Mark Hicks. “His size and strength makes him a great fit for the college game and I know he will step up and continue his leadership that we are going to miss around here.”
Schwartzhoff is the 4th player to commit from the Toros this season.
