3View: Granite City Lumberjacks

The 3View video series will feature an in-depth look into all NA3HL teams in preparation for the 2024-25 season, with one team being highlighted daily, leading all the way up until the start of the regular season on September 6th. 3View will include interviews with each team’s head coach, as they provide fans with their expectations and outlook for the 2024-25 season. 

Granite City Lumberjacks

Head Coach: DJ Vold (Going on 2nd season)

2023-24 season record: 36-9-0-2 (1st in West Division)

2023-24 leading scorer: Hayden Johnson - 45 points (14 goals, 31 assists)

2024 Playoffs: Eliminated during Fraser Cup Semi Final

2024-25 Division: West Division 

After a season ending injury during his playing career in Granite City, Lumberjacks GM Brad Wilner took DJ Vold under his wing and kick started his coaching career when he was just 21 years old and has remained within the organization ever since. With yet another trip to the Fraser Cup under his belt, Vold relied heavily on his depth scoring and plans to bring players on board who can add to this element. The Lumberjacks will kick off the season against their West Division rivals in the Alexandria Blizzard, a game with “a little extra steam” as both teams are fired up to begin the season against one another.
