Sunday Wrap Up: Capitals Complete Sweep of Tulsa

Atlanta 4 @ Tulsa 1 - Tulsa would get off to a quick start by way of Kolin Krizan, as the Jr. Oilers looked to avoid the weekend sweep. Shortly into the second period, Aldiyar Irik would continue his success against Tulsa to level this game at one. Nick Marcella would find the back of the net off a feed from Daniel Ripstein to take the lead for the Capitals. Gabriel Dollmont added another insurance goal at the start of the third period and Ayden Spencer would grab another later on in the period. Jackson Black played a complete game making 30 saves, and David Gifford would make 24 saves in the loss.
Texas R 3 @ Texas B 5 - The Brahmas would look to finish the weekend undefeated and remain unbeaten on the season, but a Lucas Dyer goal in the first would look to change that. In the second period, William Heskett would double up the RoadRunners’ lead. It would stop there, Kyle Mackintosh would convert on the powerplay to give his team a 3-0 lead. Nikolai Meshkantsov would get the Brahmas on the board shortly after, to which he then scored a penalty shot goal to cut the deficit to one. Joseph Crowley evened this game at three late in the second on the powerplay, leading to Cael Freehling taking the lead seconds into the third. Meshkantsov would complete the hat trick late in the third, backed by his goaltender, Luke Romney who made 19 saves. Jimmy Packee would make 33 saves for the RoadRunners in the loss.
Long Beach 1 @ Northeast 3 - After a high-scoring game on Saturday between these two teams, in a game which saw 13 goals being scored, the momentum surely carried into this one. In the first period, each team’s #24 would light the lamp, and Bradyn Holmes of the Generals and Jackson Hampton of the Sharks both scored. Gavin Cowan scored for the Generals later in the first to take the lead heading into the locker room. Late in the second, Mason Frary would get his first goal of the weekend to add another goal to the General’s lead. The third period would remain scoreless, leading to Jascha Grossenbacher grabbing the victory with 21 saves.
Peoria 3 @ St. Louis 6 - The Blues would carry on their momentum from this weekend as Joseph LoPiccolo would light the lamp early in this game. Shortly after, Kyle Settles found the back of the net on the powerplay, doubling the lead for St. Louis. Mason Andrew would strike early in the second period, to which Johnny Switzer and Colten Cox would respond shortly after. Nickolas Martin would level this game at three midway through the third, that is until Andrew would score two more goals to complete the hat trick. Brayden Davis added another goal to complete the weekend for the Blues. Eric Denny would have four assists in this game and seven in his last two games. Alexander Rivolta grabbed the win with 28 saves while Charlie Maquet collected 30 saves in relief.
Maine 0 @ New Jersey 4 - In the only game of the weekend for both teams, the game would start a little sluggish. The first period would go scoreless, with Mateo Ruffolo finally breaking the ice late into the second period. Juno Ryu started the final frame with a bang, leading to Ruffolo scoring his second goal of the night shortly after. Samuel Abramson scored an insurance goal later in the period. Nick Gould would be stellar in this one, making 46 saves on his way to collect the shutout.
