Jr. Blues name captains for 2013-14 season

September 26, 2013
The St. Louis Jr. Blues of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that Mike Lozano has been named the team's Captain for the 2013-14 season and Christian Argyros and Kyle Meeh have been named Alternate Captains.

Lozano is entering his second season with the Jr. Blues and third season in the NA3HL, as he was previously a member of the Chicago Hitmen.  Argyros and Meeh are both entering their second season with the Jr. Blues.

According to Head Coach Chris Flaugher, the selection of this years captains were "no brainers." "Since day 1 of training camp, Michael has set the tone of what it takes to play in this league and the newcomers have noticed.  Michael gives it his all every practice, off ice workout, and game.  He is a leader by example and when his voice is heard, everyone listens.  Not only is he one of the most respected played on the team, he is one of the most respected players in the NA3HL and plays with his heart on his sleeve."

Flaugher added he feels Argyros and Meeh are the perfect compliment to Lozano as the leaders of this team.  "Argy and Meeh are players with a lot of character and are not afraid to speak up in the locker room to get everyone's attention.  It's pretty obvious when one of these guys are raising their voice, it's time to get down to business."??

With one of the youngest teams in the league, the Jr. Blues will rely heavily on the chosen leaders and returning veterans.  This year's team has a good core of 1996 and 1997 birth year players. The vets like Lucas Stewart, Andrew Kovacich, Tommy Heinzman, Alex Turin, Chris Brown, and Jake Wynd will be pivotal in making this season successful.  Flaugher added, "You couldn't ask for a better group of guys to help our younger players feel comfortable in a new setting.  They have bonded well and they have started the formation of a good foundation of team unity."
