Friday Finals: Blizzard get back to winning ways
Chicago Jr. Bulldogs 2 @ Toledo Cherokee 3: Aaron Callan stopped 31 Bulldog shots and backstopped the Toledo Cherokee to a one-goal victory over the Chicago Jr. Bulldogs. Brody Duncan scored on a Kyler Omey pass on the power play to put the Cherokee up in the middle of the third period. Chicago forward Kyle Pierce scored on the power play to answer the Duncan goal but the Bulldogs offense couldn’t beat Callan to score the tying goal. Boxscore
Breezy Point North Stars 1 @ Granite City Lumberjacks 8: Aidan Verbeke and Drew Otto both scored four points in an 8-1 Granit City victory over the Breezy Point North Stars. Verbeke and Otto, both returning forwards for the Lumberjacks, have been pacing the offense for Granite City now have ten & nine points on the season, respectively. Austin Williams scored the only goal for Breezy Point on a tough night offensively. Boxscore
Alexandria Blizzard 6 @ Twin City Steel 2: Drake Hunter struck three times for the hat trick pacing the Alexandria Blizzard to a 6-2 victory over the Twin City Steel. Hunter scored on the power play with 17 seconds left in the first period to put the Blizzard up for good. The Twin City Steel peppered Alexandria goalie Tanner Elmore all night but could only beat him twice on 45 shots. Jace Childs scored just over a minute into the game to give Twin City the early lead but Alexandria found their groove and controlled the scoreboard for the rest of the night. Boxscore
